World Gatka Federation (WGF) is the sole authentic, duly registered and democratically governed international sports body conserving, promoting and regulating the martial art Gatka as a sport. It is duly registered in July 2018 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, ensuring transparency, accountability and recognition under laws. Its leadership is elected by member organizations, reflecting the collective voice of the Gatka community worldwide.
In contrast, a few misleading organizations have attempted to misuse the Federation’s name—such as a private company styled as World Gatka Federation Inc. in the USA and another entity fraudulently registered in 2024 by adding the word “The” before the already established WGF. These bodies are afterthought, not genuine, lacking democratic legitimacy, and hold no recognition within the global sports fraternity.
As the only authentic global authority for Gatka, World Gatka Federation has published its fourth edition of the ‘International Gatka Rules and Regulations’ in August 2025. It had established regional platforms like Asian Gatka Federation and Commonwealth Gatka Federation, strengthening the sport’s presence worldwide. WGF, in association with International Sikh Martial Art Council and Global Sikh Sports Federation, is committed to preserving tradition, ensuring fair play and securing Gatka’s rightful place in the international sporting arena.
“Democratically elected, duly registered, internationally recognised, WGF is the true home of Gatka.”
